The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has carried out the technical bid opening for its 2025 capital appropriation project, focused on the proposed construction of an access road and drainage system at the Awa-Ijebu Study Centre in Ogun State.

The exercise, which was held in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, aimed at promoting transparency, fairness and competitiveness in the award of government contracts.

It also provided an opportunity to verify all submissions and ensure that each bid complied with the requirements stated in the procurement advertisement.

Five companies participated in the technical bidding process, which are: Extreme Energy Limited, Century Trades Limited, Frames and Forms Limited, Dhow Industries Limited and KC Construction Limited.

Their submissions were formally opened before representatives of the Procurement Department, observers and relevant stakeholders.

Representing the Director of Procurement, the Chief Procurement Officer, Mr. Olugbenga Emmanuel, emphasised that the bidding exercise revealed NOUN’s commitment to due process, transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

Emmanuel added that ensuring strict adherence to procurement guidelines is essential for delivering quality infrastructure across the university’s study centres.

The proposed project is expected to improve access to the Awa-Ijebu Study Centre and enhance the learning environment for students and staff once completed.
